I love being at med school and I’m (mostly) really excited about actually being a doctor in a few years, but part of me is inclined to think that the american system where you have to do another degree (i think?) before doing medicine is a good idea… a lot of the post grads here are waaayy more equipped with life experience than the school leavers, and although I wouldn’t have done it myself I think it has been really beneficial for a lot of people. Idk, I’m going to be a qualified doctor when I’m only 22 and that just seems so young… I was at the hospital for a seminar earlier and loads of the newly qualified F1s were around and they look so young, it’s actually crazy.
